Gothic Vampira
Since the emergence of the Victorian classic, “Dracula” by Bram Stoker, the Gothic vampire has been associated with sex. This Gothic vampire is fantastically seductive, with unlimited power over humans, who are unable to resist it’s hypnotic charms. On the other hand, the vampire is irresistibly attracted to the beauty and innocence of attractive humans, who must be pursued, corrupted and discarded.
In the novel, Dracula is surrounded by a veritable harem of beautiful, available, but discarded vampiresses, all of which he ignores in his pursuit of his newest human conquest. It has long been asserted that the vampire was a symbol and expression of forbidden sexuality in the sexually repressive Victorian era in England.
So seduction and sexiness is definitely part of the vampire’s appeal and should likewise be part of the Gothic vampire costume. Sexy vampire costumes come in child, teen, adult and adult plus sizes. A few of these are featured in the costume links on the sidebar.

It seems quite charming that the people in the region where Dracula is supposed to have come from in Romania had never heard of the book until quite recently. They must have wondered why these people keep coming here asking about Dracula’s castle and such like. Nowadays there is a ski resort nearby and one of the day trips from the resort is to visit the castle. I’d love to do that trip just to say I’ve been to Dracula’s castle.
